Set around a grand chateau-style residence in Etobicoke, this landscape unfolds across a sloping, multi-level site. Rather than resolve the grade into a single view, Amsen Design Inc. shaped it into a descending sequence of garden terraces. It begins at a radial cobblestone motor court, steps down through a formal boxwood parterre to a hand-cut stone moongate, and arrives at its heart: a waterway flowing to a natural-stone waterfall, designed and built entirely on site, with a walk-through behind the falls that connects to a hidden flagstone path bordered by the natural ravine.

Here, nothing reveals itself all at once. Each area is composed to draw the eye, and curiosity with it, naturally to the next. The effect harmoniously settles the home into its surroundings, from formal gardens to hidden pathways set along the ravine. The hand-cut moongate frames the first view and leads you onto the flagstone path, where a single monolithic slab waits as a bench and the sound of water arrives before the waterfall does. The walk becomes a sequence of quiet discoveries.

For all its scale, the stonework never announces itself. Each cut-limestone tread, fieldstone wall, and cobble fan sits so naturally the landscape looks as though it has held this shape for decades: craft measured not by how much it impresses, but by how completely it belongs, from summer bloom to a snow-dusted winter dusk.
