Completed in 2014, this Tudor-style residence in Thornhill was reshaped around a twenty-foot granite waterfall, custom-assembled on site to mimic the glacial stone outcrops that shaped Canada's landscape. At its base, a granite river-rock plunge pool collects the falling water before it flows toward the estate's freeform natural pool, a custom-built swimming pool encased in large random flagstone and cut to fit on site.

A six-ton monolithic granite slab serves as a single-piece diving board at the pool's twelve-foot deep end, while cantilevered umbrellas, lounge seating, and dense layers of boxwood and hosta screen the home for a private, estate-scale backyard.

Two hidden paths lead from the pool terrace into the wooded ravine beyond: large flagstone steps climb toward the top of the waterfall, while a second route of smaller rectangular stepping stones descends into the woods. A newly established lawn was shaped to blend seamlessly with the existing ravine forest, so the finished landscape reads as though it has belonged to the property since the home itself.
